| Bio: | Mama Edie is a bilingual storyteller (Spanish/Enlgish), published writer, percussionist, speech/language pathologist, and voice-over artist who has provided storytelling performances and workshops for parents, teachers, children, social workers, steel workers, attorneys, the corporate sector, and more since 1989. Largely inspired by her passionate regard for her African and Native American ancestries, she believes that the power of story can increase knowledge of and belief in one’s self. It can help us to understand how we’re connected; increase respect for each other; and encourage us to honor the right each of us has to strive to attain our highest potential. Having performed in West Africa (Ghana, Togo, Benin), Mexico, South Africa, India and Trinidad, Mama Edie is ready to share a journey with you. Whether fun and frollicky or somber and serene, these presentations are powerful reminders of our own beauty and strength and the gifts we are to the world. |
